At the Seattle-based NBBJ, she’s working to strengthen our connection to the natural environment in a variety of contexts, among them the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s headquarters in Seattle. Formerly an asphalt parking lot, the 640,000-square-foot campus is the largest non-profit LEED-NC Platinum project in the world; green space covers 40 percent of the site, including two acres of living roofs.
